Dredge pertains to machines used mainly to target shellfish, dredges employ a heavy mesh to suck everything from the sea floor. The gear is dragged along the bottom, and the shellfish are held in a sort of bag or sieve which allows the water, sand or mud to run out.

Dividers refer to compasses with fixed points used in architectural design and construction work to record measurements and divide lines into equal parts.

- Direction finding compass : Direction finding compass is an instrument to determine the direction, or bearing, from one point to another. It is composed of magnetized metal needle that floats on a pivot point. The needle orients to the magnetic field lines of the earth.

A Distribution Arrester (light duty class) is described as an arrester normally installed on and used to protect underground distribution systems where the major portion of the lightning stroke current is discharged by an arrester located at the overhead line/cable junction.

The term dye refers to a natural or synthetic substance that may be used to add or change the color of a material or other substance (e.g. hair, food, textiles) that it is applied to.

Desktop publishing is described as the use of a computer to create documents that can be printed. Specialized software is used to add copy and graphics to the document, which is then outputted to a printer or typesetting equipment.

Duossal ("Duo" + "stainless steel" + "aluminum" is a sandwich material for pans; or aluminium pans laminated with stainless steel on the inside (combines the positive properties of aluminium and stainless steel).
