Electrolysis is the production of chemical changes by passage of an electric current through an electrolyte.
Moreover, electrolysis refers to the passage of an electric current through an electrolyte, causing the migration of the positively charged ions to the negative electrode - cathode and the negatively charged ions to the positive electrode - anode.
